{"id":14146,"date":"2021-03-11T09:40:36","date_gmt":"2021-03-11T09:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltaohm.com\/?p=14146"},"modified":"2021-03-19T09:44:10","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T09:44:10","slug":"how-to-measure-sunshine-duration-with-a-pyranometer-wmo-no-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/environmental.senseca.com\/it\/2021\/03\/11\/how-to-measure-sunshine-duration-with-a-pyranometer-wmo-no-8\/","title":{"rendered":"How to measure Sunshine Duration with a Pyranometer (WMO-NO.8)"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>In the Guide to Meteorological Instruments and Methods of Observation, the WMO has approved the possibility to use the so called &#8216;pyranometric method&#8217; to calculate Sunshine Duration.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This means that, next to the already frequently used method where a specific Sunshine Duration sensor is being used, in some cases it may be more efficient to use the measurement data of an already installed Pyranometer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>To be able to use the measurement data of a Pyranometer to calculate the Sunshine Duration, a specific algorithm needs to be used. In the Senseca Meteo Logger series HD33 we are now introducing this possibility to calculate the Sunshine Duration according to the method as approved by the WMO. Thus making it possible to allow you to build your systems in a highly cost effective way.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If there is no interest to apply the calculated method, we of course have our Sunshine Duration sensor LPSD18 available (fully according to the recommendations of the WMO).
