HD32.2 is a thermal microclimate data logger to measure WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe thermometer temperature) Index in Hot Environments according to ISO 7726 and ISO 7243.

The instrument is provided with three inputs for probes with SICRAM module: the probes have an electric circuit that communicates with the instrument; the sensor calibration data are saved in its permanent memory. All the SICRAM probes can be inserted in one of the inputs: they are automatically recognized when you switch the instrument on.
The main features of the instrument are:

Logging: acquisition and memorization of data inside the instrument. Memory capacity: 64 different logging sections, with the possibility to set the acquisition interval of the samples. You can set the duration of the memorization and, with auto-start function; it’s possible to set the starting and finishing date and the hour of data memorization.

The measurement unit of the temperature visualized sizes: °C, °F, °K.

The system date and hour.

The visualization of the maximum, minimum and medium statistic parameters and their cancellation.

The transfer speed of the data through the serial port RS232.

HD32.2 instrument can contemporarily detect the following sizes:

Globe thermometer temperature Tg.

Wet bulb with natural ventilation temperature Tn.

Ambient temperature T.

On the basis of the detected measurements, HD32.2 can calculate:

WBGT(in) index (Wet Bulb Glob Temperature: wet bulb and globe thermometer temperature) in presence or absence of solar irradiation.

WBGT(out) index (Wet Bulb Glob Temperature: wet bulb and globe thermometer temperature) in presence of solar irradiation.

These probes are requested for the WBGT measurement:

Dry bulb temperature probe TP3207.2.

Globe temperature probe TP3276.2.

Natural ventilated wet bulb temperature probe HP3201.2.

HD32.2 is the portable version, mostly used in combination with a table stand (small tripod). For measurements during a longer period we suggest the version with a stable tripod HD32.3A.

Thermal microclimate for the measurement of WBGT, PMV (mean predicted vote), PPD (predicted percentage of dissatisfied), DR (draught rate), TU (local turbulence intensity), HI (heat index), UTCI (Universal Thermal Climate Index), TEP (perceived equivalent temperature) indices, CO2, PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10. Estimation of SARS-CoV-2 decay time on surfaces.

HD32.3TC is the portable version, mostly used in combination with a table stand (small tripod).
HD32.3TCA is the version that is being used with a stable tripod, suitable to be used for measurements during a longer period.

Technically the difference is simple: with the HD32.3TCA the sensors are being connected by a cable and a black globe of 150mm is used. With the HD32.3TC the black globe is 50mm and the sensors are being connected directly on top of the instrument.

Both are fully according to the applicable ISO7730, ISO7726 and ISO7243 regulations.

T dry bulb temperature

Tnw natural ventilation wet bulb temperature

Tg globe thermometer temperature

UR relative humidity

Va air speed

CO2 carbon dioxide

Patm atmospheric pressure

PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10 particulate matter

A bright and clear touch display allows the calculated values for WBGT, PMV/PPD and TU to be directly visible. The data are immediately available via “cloud” application accessible remotely via Wi-Fi connection. The data logger has a large memory capacity for long lasting measurement cycles. Moreover, the rechargeable battery guarantees a working autonomy of at least 24 hours.

Reference standard: ISO 7726 – Ergonomics of the thermal environment – Instruments for measuring physical quantities. ISO 7730 – Ergonomics of the thermal environment – Analytical determination and interpretation of thermal comfort using calculation of the PMV and PPD indices and local thermal comfort criteria. ISO 7243 – Ergonomics of the thermal environment – Assessment of heat stress using the WBGT (wet bulb globe temperature) index. ASHRAE Standard 55 – Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy. ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2019 – Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality. ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2019 – Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality.

The HD32.3TC and HD32.3TCA have additional possibilities compared to the HD32.3 and HD32.3A instruments – sale, repair and maintenance for the old series will of course stay available.
