Supports for the accelerometers
An accelerometer should detect the vibrations transmitted to the hand by a vibrating object, such as a mechanical part or the handle of a tool. In both cases, you should not interfere with the normal operation and try to fix the sensor as close as possible to the center of the hand.
Often you need to use an adaptor on which to mount the accelerometer. This adaptor can be fixed to the vibrating object using strips, or held against it by the hand.
Here is some examples of supports to be used with the HD3023A2 accelerometer:
HD2030AC1 |
This adaptor is useful for small tools and anatomical handles, such as a drill. |
|
HD2030AC4 |
An adaptor to be pressed between the hand and the handle. The accelerometer is fixed in central position, between the middle finger and the ring finger or the forefinger and the middle finger. Suitable for anatomical handles, even non cylindrical and small. |
|
HD2030AC2 |
An adaptor to be pressed between the hand and the handle. The accelerometer is fixed laterally, to the left or right of the hand. Suitable for large cylindrical handles. |
The HD3200B5T monoaxial sensor, suitable for shock measurements, can be combined to the HD2030AC3 support in stainless steel:
