HD2030 Vibration Analyzer Quick Guide

This guide is an introduction to the use of the HD2030 vibration analyzer and the Noise Studio software. We are describing the main technical analyses for the following measurements: hand-arm system, whole body, and buildings vibrations. We are referring to ISO 5349 for the hand-arm system measurements, and ISO 2631 for the whole body and building vibration measurements.
We are also describing in detail the use of setups, the application of the accelerometers and corresponding accessories, the measurement modes, the NoiseStudio software installation and the evaluation of the results.
At the end, we reported some calculation examples to cover the most common situations.
For further information, please see the program on-line HELP "Menu ? >> NoiseStudio Handbook >> ..." and the instrument manual.

Composition of the kit

The analyser is sold in a kit: its composition varies according to the application.
Below, we are reporting the example of the "HD2030 HA & WB" kit for the hand-arm system and whole body measurements. The difference with the other kits is mainly relative to the type of accelerometers used.

In the case there are:

HD2030 analyzer

HD3023: triaxial accelerometer for the measurement of the vibrations transmitted to the hand-arm system. The accelerometer is connected to the analyze via the HD2030CAB3-3M cable included in the kit.

HD2030AC4: adaptor to mount the accelerometer on the handle.

HD5313: triaxial accelerometer inserted into a circular rubber pad for the measurement of the vibrations transmitted to the driver from the driver seat. The accelerometer is fitted with a cable for connection to the analyzer.

HD2030CAB3-3M: analyzer connection cable

Noise Studio software.

HD2030MC 1GB SD memory card.

CP22 serial cable for connection to a PC with USB interface (on request, we can also supply the serial cable for connection to a PC with COM interface HD2110CSNM).

Other accessories: wax, grease, ..., basin.

In the following pages we will describe in detail how to connect the accelerometers, configure the instrument and perform the measurement.

The instrument is already configured in the factory using the parameters of the accelerometers included in the kit.

Before proceeding with the measurements, you need to configure the instrument using the setups supplied with the kit and properly apply them to the accelerometers.

You can (to continue with this guide, select one of the following links):

1. Operate directly from the instrument menu,

2. Install the Noise Studio software, connect the instrument to the PC and configure it using the software.
